Georgian Lanes Entertainment fought back against cancer in the Seventh Annual KNOCKDOWN CANCER Campaign!
On Saturday January 27th, 2018 Georgian Lanes Entertainment hosted it’s 7th annual Knockdown Cancer campaign.
We had 2 shifts of teams. 3-6pm shift and 7-10pm shift. Both shifts were busy and close to 70 people bowled the 3 games (regular game, bingo bowl game and funky bowl game).
We also had a silent auction which ran Monday January 22nd until 9pm January 27th.
Over $2500 was raised in the silent auction alone! (new record!)
All lanes were sponsored by local businesses and we even had businesses sponsor the event itself. Over 35 local businesses also donated items or gift certificates to the silent auction.
We had 65 items up for grabs! Our most yet!
Georgian Lanes also donated 50 cents from every shoe rental during the month of January to the fundraising campaign.
An amazing time was had by all and when it was all said and done we ended up raising $7600 in total! $2533.33 to each of our 3 local recipients!
Three local recipients were nominated by the community and those recipients were Hospice West Parry Sound, McDougall Public School Breakfast Program in loving memory of Wendal Fisher and Pat Evans, and Tammy Antoine, local resident currently undergoing treatments.
Our Master of Ceremonies Christine Normore was once again outstanding in running the bowling event and the share the wealth draws. Well done Christine!
We look forward to next year being bigger and better but it’ll be tough to beat this year’s campaign!
Thank you everyone who participated, volunteered, donated items, sponsored lanes, sponsored the event, pledged funds, made donations and shared their stories to make this a truly wonderful and memorable month!
